Welcome to the Norway-Asia Business Summit 2019 being held in Shanghai, China from October 31st to November 2nd.
The Norway-Asia Business Summit, first established in 1998, is currently the most important economic forum between Norwegian and Asian business leaders. The objective is to strengthen both trade and investment between Norway and Asia by encouraging cross-border cooperation amongst leading institutions, companies, and technology clusters.
By 2050, the world population is expected to surpass 9 billion. A rapidly growing population means increased demand for food, energy, transport and minerals. At a time when the ocean is already under mounting threats from climate change, overfishing, and pollution, it is now more important than ever to address the trajectory of ocean industries going forward.
The OECD estimates that ocean-based industries could double their contributions to the global economy by 2030. This year’s summit we will focus on the role that both innovation and technological development play in establishing a sustainable ocean
economy.
We greatly look forward to hosting some of the most influential Norwegian and Asian decision makers from both the Energy and Ocean clusters.
